Tunisia: Activists plan to protest in Tunis March 25

Activists plan to demonstrate outside the headquarters of the National Union of Tunisian Journalists (SNJT) in Tunis from 11:00 March 25 against the detention of three reporters. Authorities had referred the three individuals to the Judicial Center for Combating Terrorism (POLE) after they reportedly refused to reveal sources for an article regarding the break up of a terrorist cell. Dozens to hundreds of individuals could attend the demonstration.

Increased security and localized transport disruptions are likely near the SNJT headquarters through the afternoon of March 25. Clashes between police and protesters cannot be ruled out, particularly if demonstrators are overly disruptive or if they ignore police orders to disperse.
