Uzbekistan lifts certain COVID-19 international travel restrictions as of March 17.

Warning

Event

As of March 17, the government of Uzbekistan is enforcing a slate of eased COVID-19-related international entry controls. In addition, to scaling back some pre-arrival testing requirements, authorities have reopened the land border checkpoints with Kazakhstan and Tajikistan. Rail transport with Kazakhstan has been reestablished.

Domestic Measures
Businesses and services may operate without restrictions.

International Travel Restrictions
Under new regulations that entered into force on March 16, foreign nationals who are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 may enter Uzbekistan without restrictions. Unvaccinated travelers, however, must present a negative result from a PCR test taken no more than 72 hours before travel or be tested on arrival. Uzbek nationals who test positive will be quarantined in a government facility, while foreign nationals who test positive will be barred from entry.

Authorities could reimpose, extend, further ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
