Officials in Dominica further ease COVID-19-related international travel restrictions as of April 18.

Warning

Event

Authorities in Dominica have recently issued orders to further ease the country's COVID-19-related international travel restrictions. As of April 18, travelers no longer have to submit a health questionnaire before entering the country. Additionally, fully vaccinated travelers are no longer required to provide a negative result from a pre-arrival COVID-19 test, and unvaccinated travelers are no longer required to quarantine upon arrival.

No traveler is required to take a COVID-19 test upon arrival unless exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms. Individuals who test positive in an on-arrival test must isolate at a Safe in Nature-certified property.

Children under the age of 12 will assume the vaccination status of their family members with whom they arrive and must adhere to the same entry requirements.

Domestic Measures
Under existing directives, most nonessential businesses may operate. Barbershops, spas, and restaurants can offer in-person services, provided they enforce social distancing measures. Wearing a facemask is mandatory in indoor public settings and on public transportation.

International Travel Restrictions
Fully vaccinated travelers must continue to show proof of vaccination in English before departure for Dominica and upon arrival. These individuals are not required to quarantine upon arrival. Officials consider individuals to be fully vaccinated if they have received a second dose of an approved two-shot COVID-19 vaccine, or one dose of the Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) vaccine, more than two weeks before traveling to the country. Approved vaccines include those by AstraZeneca, Janssen (Johnson & Johnson), Moderna, Pfizer, Sinopharm, Sputnik, Abdala, and Soberana.

Persons who are not fully vaccinated or do not have proof of full vaccination must show proof of a negative result from either a PCR test taken within 72 hours before arrival or a rapid antigen test taken within 48 hours prior to arrival. These travelers are also no longer required to quarantine upon arrival.

Authorities could reimpose, extend, further ease, or otherwise amend any entry requirements with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.

Advice

Follow all official instructions. Abide by national health and safety measures. Confirm all travel arrangements.
