Haiti: Authorities update some COVID-19-related restrictions as of April 20 /update 20

Authorities in Haiti update certain COVID-19-related restrictions as of April 20.

Warning

Event

Authorities in Haiti have updated some COVID-19-related restrictions for fully vaccinated travelers as of April 20. Passengers who are fully vaccinated no longer need to present a negative result from a COVID-19 test. The testing requirements remain in place for all other travelers aged five or older who are not fully vaccinated. The requirement for individuals to maintain social distancing of 1.5 meters (5 feet) between persons in public spaces has been lifted and the wearing of facemasks outdoors is no longer mandatory. Most other domestic and international travel measures remain largely unchanged.

Domestic Measures
A health state of emergency remains in place, allowing the government to implement COVID-19 restrictions. The use of facemasks remains mandatory in all indoor public places. There are capacity restrictions on certain gatherings. As of April 20, there is no nightly curfew in effect.

Temperature checks are carried out at the entrances to public and private institutions and businesses, including offices, schools, banks, universities, health centers, hospitals, and places of worship.

International Travel Restrictions
Commercial passenger flights are operating at Toussaint Louverture International Airport (PAP) in Port-au-Prince and at Cap Haitien International Airport (CAP); incoming passengers are subject to body temperature checks on arrival.

Travelers who can prove they are fully vaccinated do not need to present a pre-travel test. All travelers arriving in Haiti who are not fully vaccinated and aged five or older, regardless of country of origin, must present a negative result from an antigen or PCR test taken within 72 hours before boarding their flights. Arrivals must complete and submit a health declaration form, in which they must provide their in-country contact information and accommodation details. Travelers are not required to self-isolate upon arrival unless they have COVID-19 symptoms or local authorities require them to do so.

Authorities can reimpose, extend, further ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
