Students affiliated with the Student Executive Board (BEM) have called for a protest march from the Ngarsopuro Crossroad to the Gladak Roundabout in Surakarta (Solo), Central Java, from 14:00 April 14. Participants intend to demand the government stabilize the prices of essential goods, including cooking oil. Hundreds to a couple of thousand people will likely participate in the protest.

Security forces will likely monitor the protest march and may try to disperse the procession if it is especially disruptive. Clashes between protesters and police are possible. Localized transport disruptions are likely, especially along Jalan Slamet Riyadi.
