Activists affiliated with indigenous organizations, including the Boricua Indigenous Alliance in Resistance (Alianza Indigena Boricua en Resistencia, AIBER), plan to hold a protest outside the Capitol of Puerto Rico in San Juan April 19. Participants will gather from 10:00 to oppose the Senate's Joint Resolution 45 that would transfer the Caguana Indigenous Ceremonial Park to the Municipality of Utuado. Participation may reach several hundred people.

Similar protests are possible in the coming days. Heightened security and disruptions in the vicinity of the Capitol are likely. Clashes between demonstrators and police are possible.
