Officials in Rwanda maintain current COVID-19-related domestic and international travel measures as of April 6.

Domestic Measures

  • Social gatherings are allowed to resume at full capacity; all attendees should be vaccinated and provide a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken no more than 48 hours before the event.

  • Private and public offices may operate at full capacity.

  • Nightclubs and bars must close by 02:00.

  • Public transport operates provided operators and passengers are fully vaccinated.

  • Individuals must be fully vaccinated to access public spaces and events.

  • The government requires all business employees to be fully vaccinated.

  • Facemasks are mandatory in public areas.

International Travel Restrictions

  • All arriving and departing passengers at Kigali International Airport (KGL) must provide a COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours before departure or arrival.

  • All Rwandans departing from Rwanda must be fully vaccinated.

  • All international passengers must complete the Passenger Locator Form (PLF) before arrival.

  • Travelers will be required to take a PCR and an antigen test at their own cost on arrival and self-isolate up to 24 hours until they get their result.

  • Land borders are open; authorities will conduct random testing of arrivals.

Authorities will review and update the nation's COVID-19 measures after one month.
