Syrian air defenses have reportedly responded to airstrikes that targeted sites around Damascus early April 27. While no entity immediately claimed responsibility for the attack, Syrian government sources alleged that Israel carried out the strikes; the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have regularly conducted similar actions against Syrian government forces and Iran-backed fighters in Syria. Context
