Informational

Event

Unionized aged care workers have called for a one-day work stoppage across Queensland, South Australia, and Western Australia states from 11:30 May 10. Participants also plan to protest in the central business district areas of Adelaide, Brisbane, and Perth, at 13:00 the same day. Workers are demanding higher wages and improved working conditions. Organizers claim thousands of staff members will join the labor action.

Strike participants may hold additional unannounced demonstrations near aged care homes and government offices. While violence is unlikely, police will probably monitor gatherings as a precaution. Localized transport disruptions are possible near well-attended rallies in urban centers.
