Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Shimla, Himachal Pradesh State, May 31. He will arrive at Annadale Ground the morning of May 31 and hold a roadshow along Mall Road from the Central Telegraph Office to The Ridge via Rani Jhansi Park. He is scheduled to address a rally at The Ridge to mark eight years as prime minister Organizers claim 50, 000 participants will attend the main event.

A heightened security deployment is certain at event venues and routes used by Prime Minister Modi. Traffic restrictions are in place throughout May 31; strict rules will affect routes connecting Bilaspur, Solan, and Upper Shimla to the rally venue. Public transport serving the affected area may be rerouted or curtailed. Business disruptions are possible due to the closure of local businesses and/or employees' difficulties to reach workplaces.

The Ridge is approximately 90 km (56 miles) south of Bhuntar.
