Jordan eases COVID-19 restrictions as of May 25 amid drop in disease cases.
Event
Authorities in Jordan have eased COVID-19 measures as of May 25. The mandatory wearing of facemasks is no longer required in indoor and outdoor public spaces. The action comes amid a drop in the number of disease cases.
Domestic Measures
The Jordanian government is not currently enforcing COVID-19-related curfew measures. Businesses can generally operate at full capacity. All restrictions on public gatherings, including at worship sites and weddings, have been lifted.
International Travel Restrictions
Travelers to Jordan no longer need to take a pre-departure PCR test; travelers are also exempt from undergoing a PCR test upon arrival at airports or any other entry points. Foreign nationals aged five or older must complete a "Travel to Jordan Declaration Form" before travel and present the generated quick response (QR) code before boarding their flight and upon arrival. As part of the form, travelers must agree to get tested should they contract COVID-19 or experience symptoms of the disease; individuals who test positive for COVID-19 are required to undergo a five-day quarantine period. Foreign nationals must obtain health/travel insurance valid for the period of their stay in the country.
Jordan's land borders with Israel and the West Bank are open to cross-border travel.
Authorities could reimpose, extend, further ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
