Event

As of May 2, the government of Suriname is enforcing an eased program of COVID-19 restrictions. Under the current directives, quarantines are no longer required for incoming travelers. Moreover, both the pandemic-related curfew and social gathering ban have been lifted.

Domestic Measures
Facemasks must be worn in all places outside of the home. Restaurants may only provide seated indoor dining for fully vaccinated customers or those who have tested negative for COVID-19 within the last 24 hours. There are no curfews or restrictions on social gatherings in force.

International Travel Restrictions
Only flights to and from the Netherlands, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Dutch Caribbean islands, Guyana, French Guiana, Brazil, Panama, Trinidad and Tobago, and the US are operating in Suriname.

Fully vaccinated individuals may enter Suriname for any reason. Still, they must provide a negative result from a COVID-19 antigen test taken no more than 24 hours before departure or a PCR test taken no more than 48 hours before departure. Children under the age of 18 are exempt from the vaccine requirement.

Unvaccinated individuals are allowed to travel to Suriname only if they are able to provide a negative result from a PCR test taken no more than 72 hours before departure. There is no quarantine requirement.

Authorities could reimpose, extend, further tighten, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
