Thailand to lift requirement for arrivals to have Thailand Pass from July 1. All provinces to transition to the least strict green zones.

Warning

Event

Authorities will further ease various domestic and international travel restrictions related to COVID-19 from July 1. Officials will no longer require international arrivals to obtain the Thailand Pass. Foreign nationals will no longer have to possess any insurance coverage for COVID-19 treatment. However, foreign citizens will still have to provide proof of either full vaccination certificate or a negative result from an RT-PCR or a professionally administered ART test taken within 72 hours before travel.

The government will also transition all provinces to the least stringent green zones, which do not have any gathering or business restrictions, from July 1. However, organizers of gatherings involving more than 2,000 people must notify the local disease control officials. All night entertainment venues will be permitted to reopen, though pubs and clubs will be allowed to serve alcohol only through 02:00 nightly. People will no longer be required to wear facemasks outdoors, except in crowded places.

Domestic Measures
The nationwide state of emergency remains in effect through July 31. Officials continue to maintain the national COVID-19 alert at the third-highest tier of Level 3, under which authorities advise people to avoid visiting crowded locations.

International Travel Restrictions
Several land checkpoints bordering Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, and Myanmar are operational.

Advice

Follow all official instructions. Abide by national health and safety measures. Reconfirm all travel arrangements. Consider delaying traveling if experiencing symptoms associated with COVID-19, as they may prompt increased scrutiny and delays. Liaise with trusted contacts for further updates and guidance. Maintain contact with your diplomatic representation. Ensure contingency plans account for further disruptive measures or extensions of current restrictions. Reconsider and reconfirm nonemergency health appointments.
