Activists plan to hold a Pride March in central Quito July 30 to demonstrate support for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) rights. Participants will gather at La Carolina Park at the intersection of Republica and Amazonas avenues and start marching from 15:00. The rally will proceed along Amazonas Avenue to the United Nations and continue along Shyris Avenue to the Botanical Gardens. Celebrations will occur at the Cruz del Papa La Carolina from 18:00.

Hundreds to thousands of people will likely participate in the event, which will probably pass peacefully. Heightened security and transit disruptions are likely in central Quito. Counter-demonstrations are possible.
