An explosion has been reported in the Pul-e-Sokhta area of Kabul, Afghanistan, Aug. 6.

An explosion has been reported in Kabul's western Pul-e-Sokhta area Aug. 6. The cause of the blast is unclear. The blast follows a bombing in the Sarkariz area of western Kabul Aug. 5 which left at least eight people dead and 18 others injured.

Authorities will almost certainly maintain a heightened security posture near the incident scene until they have fully secured the area and determined that no further attacks are imminent. Security personnel may close roadways near the blast site, prompting localized transport disruptions.

Avoid the area until officials give the all-clear. Follow all instructions from local authorities. Allow additional travel time to reach destinations in the impact area.
