India: Power outages scheduled in parts of Jammu Aug. 6
Planned power outages to occur in parts of Jammu, India, Aug. 6. Localized business and transport disruptions possible.

Power outages will occur in parts of Jammu and surrounding areas Aug. 6 due to planned maintenance work. Utility provider Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited has announced the following outages:
10:00-16:00: Outages will occur in Dhuna Latti and surrounding areas.
07:00-12:00: Power disruptions will impact Chandan Vihar, Paloura, JK Colony, PHE Roop Mahar, MES Rojouri Lines, Patoli, as well as the upper Barnai and lower Muthi localities.
09:00-17:00: Electricity disruptions will occur in Pouni, Ransoo, Shiv Khori, Dadua, and adjacent areas.
13:30-14:30: Planned outages to occur in Bainglad, Raipur, Khagwala, Rahiyan, Mawa, and adjoining areas.
Disruptions to business and telecommunications, including cellular and mobile services, may occur. Transport disruptions are possible in areas with malfunctioning traffic signals. Power outages could result in the temporary unavailability of essential services, such as ATMs and filling stations. Blackouts could adversely affect security protocols, including alarm systems; opportunistic criminal activity could increase during electricity outages.

Charge all communication and portable electronic devices when possible. Unplug electronic equipment that is not connected to surge protectors. Exercise caution when driving in areas affected by power outages. Confirm business appointments. Verify that security systems are working, including after power is restored. Ensure that generators are functional and fully fueled.
