Officials in Mongolia are maintaining COVID-19 measures as of Aug. 19.
Domestic Measures
All business restrictions are lifted. Facemasks remain mandatory in public areas. People who do not comply with facemask regulations may face a fine of MNT 150,000. There are no restrictions on long-distance transport services. Individuals that test positive for COVID-19 in Mongolia may seek treatment at a health center and could be required to self-isolate for around five to seven days.
International Travel Restrictions
Authorities permit entry for citizens, permanent residents, and foreign nationals with valid visas or visa-free status, regardless of vaccination status. A list of visa-free countries can be found by clicking here. Passengers are not required to present a negative result from a COVID-19 test taken before entry or undergo on-arrival COVID-19 testing. Individuals must fill out a medical declaration form upon arrival at border checkpoints. Authorities have also lifted all quarantine and self-isolation requirements for inbound travelers. Officials have reopened all land border crossings, but only a few specified crossings are open to foreigners.
