Sweden: Police remain on scene following shooting at Emporia mall in Malmo Aug. 19 /update 1

Police are continuing their response following a shooting incident at the Emporia Shopping Center on the southern outskirts of Malmo the afternoon of Aug. 19. Authorities have indicated that there is no active threat at the moment but have cordoned off the area to investigate the incident. Train service has been suspended at the nearby Malmo Hyllie station. Two persons were injured during the incident; police have reportedly arrested a teenage suspect.

Heightened security and localized disruptions are likely into late Aug. 19 while security forces conduct their investigation.
