The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) has announced that a planned water outage will occur in several parts of northern Trinidad island 08:00 Aug. 25-08:00 Aug. 27 due to maintenance works on a leaky pipe. Affected areas include the following:

  • Bon Air West

  • Brazil Village

  • Carapo

  • Cumuto

  • Five Rivers

  • Guaico Tamana Road

  • La Horquetta

  • Malabar

  • Maloney Gardens

  • Manzanilla and Environs

  • Mausica Road

  • O’Meara Road

  • Oropune Gardens

  • Sangre Chiquito and Toco Road

  • Sangre Grande and Environs

  • Wallerfield

Residents may experience lingering disruptions, such as low-pressure supply, through late Aug. 27.

Some business disruptions are possible in the affected areas, especially at companies that rely heavily on municipal water to maintain operations.

Advice

Stock up on drinking water and confirm alternative water supplies for business operations. Use only bottled water from reputable suppliers for drinking and hygienic purposes. Pressure and quality may be poor after service resumes; run taps for several minutes before using water. Minimize nonessential water use throughout the outage.
