UK: Unionized port workers to launch strike in Felixstowe Aug. 21-29

Unionized port workers represented by Unite will embark on an eight-day strike at the Port of Felixstowe from Aug. 21-29. The action has been called amid an ongoing pay dispute.

While there have been no immediate calls for protests, striking workers could stage pickets outside of port facilities as part of their action. Localized ground transport disruptions are possible in the vicinity of any related gathering. Maritime transport disruptions and processing delays could extend for several days after the strike ends as port authorities work to clear any container backlog.
