An improvised explosive device (IED) planted on a bicycle detonated in the Poole Khoshk area of Kabul's Dasht-e-Bachi settlement Sept. 10, wounding at least three people. No group has as yet claimed responsibility for the incident; however, Islamic State (IS) militants regularly carry out attacks against the Taliban and religious minority groups across the country, particularly in Kabul.

Authorities will almost certainly maintain a heightened security posture near the incident scene in the coming hours. Security personnel may close roadways near the blast site, prompting localized transport disruptions.

Avoid the area until officials give the all-clear. Follow all instructions from local authorities. Allow additional travel time to reach destinations in the impact area.
