Police are responding to a shooting incident at the intersection of St-Antoine Street West and De La Montagne Street in Ville Marie in central Montreal, Quebec, late Sept. 20. At around 20:00, an unknown assailant shot and injured two people, in what police describe as an attempted murder. The motive for the attack is not currently known. Reports indicate that one additional person, possibly the initial shooter, is dead. Police have not confirmed any arrests but are almost certainly undertaking operations to secure the area and investigate the incident.

Heightened security, as well as localized business and transport disruptions, are likely in the coming hours as officials conduct investigations. Disruptions to Lucien L'Allier train station are possible.
