Officials impose tiered COVID-19 measures in parts of Guiyang, Guizhou Province, China, as of Sept. 6. Localized disruptions likely.

Warning

Event

Officials in Guizhou Province are imposing tighter curbs in parts of Guiyang as of Sept. 6 due to COVID-19 concerns. Lockdown measures are in place in almost all communities in six of the city's ten districts, including the Guanshan Lake area and Baiyun, Nanming, Qingzhen, Wudang, and Yunyan districts through at least Sept. 8. Huaxi District and Huaguoyuan Area are exempt from the restrictions. Residents in the affected areas may only leave home for COVID-19 tests. Nonessential businesses must close, while taxi and some rail services are suspended. Officials will likely carry out several rounds of testing in the affected locations before easing restrictions.

Officials could extend the measures in Guiyang or impose tighter restrictions in other parts of Guizhou Province if new COVID-19 cases emerge. Strict controls, such as stay-at-home orders and closure of nonessential businesses, are possible. Business operation and supply chain disruptions are likely in the affected areas due to COVID-19 protocols.
