France: Activists to rally in support of controversial doctor in Paris Sept. 13

Reinfo Paris activist group to rally in Paris, France, 13 Sept. Heightened security, localized disruptions likely.

Informational

Event

The Reinfo Paris activist group will demonstrate in Paris Sept. 13 in solidarity with Professor Christian Perronne, who is undergoing disciplinary measures for his outspoken stance on COVID-19 vaccines. Participants will meet the professor at the Volontaires Metro station around 08:30 before marching with him to the Order of Physicians Regional Council on Rue Borromee. Activists will then march to Esplanade Jacques-Chaban-Delmas for a rally; the event is scheduled to conclude at 17:00. Attendance could range from a few hundred to the low thousands through the course of the day.

Police will likely deploy to monitor the event and prevent participants from gathering outside the disciplinary hearing. Localized transport disruptions are likely; large crowds could prompt congestion at Volontaires Metro as rally participants arrive for the demonstration. While widespread violence is not anticipated, scuffles between police and protesters cannot be ruled out.

Advice

Avoid the demonstration Sept. 13 as a standard precaution. Plan for localized disruptions near rallies and seek alternative routes to circumvent affected areas.
