Officials lift self-quarantine requirements for COVID-19 cases across Australia as of Oct. 14. Other rules continue.

Informational

Event

Australian officials have ended self-quarantine mandates for people that contract COVID-19 as of Oct. 14. Most state-level governments continue to require individuals with COVID-19 to avoid high-risk settings, mainly medical facilities. Authorities have also lifted testing requirements for designated close contacts. Although self-quarantine rules have ceased, the government encourages symptomatic people to remain at home. Businesses can determine their return to work requirements for employees who recently contracted COVID-19.

Governments in Victoria and New South Wales no longer require self-reporting positive rapid antigen test (RAT) results. However, the mandate continues in other states and territories, and individuals could face fines for not reporting positive RAT results in some states.

Domestic Measures
Some state-level governments continue to require facemasks in high-risk settings, such as medical facilities.
