Increased security is likely near Myawaddy-Mae Sot checkpoint as of Oct. 15 following two explosions in Myawaddy late Oct. 14. Reports indicate that a car bomb exploded near the first Thai-Myanmar Friendship Bridge, and another exploded in a nearby market. There are no reports of casualties. Unconfirmed reports suggest that a building in Myawaddy sustained some damages. Thai authorities reportedly increased security along the border. No group immediately claimed responsibility for the incident.
