Increased security and further communal violence are possible in the Logo and Ukum local government areas of Benue State into at least early November after attacks by groups of armed herders killed at least 23 people and wounded about 11 others Oct. 19. Unconfirmed reports indicate that over 50 homes were also set ablaze in the assaults.
