Solomon Islands: Government eases COVID-19 testing requirements for fully vaccinated inbound passengers as of Oct. 14 /update 6

The Solomon Islands lifts COVID-19 testing mandates for fully vaccinated international travelers as of Oct. 14. Domestic rules ongoing.

Informational

Event

Authorities in the Solomon Islands have lifted a pre-departure testing mandate for fully vaccinated travelers 12 years old and above as of Oct. 14. Travelers must have completed a primary vaccination series at least four weeks before arrival. However, officials no longer require a third vaccination dose for entry or advanced clearance from the Ministry of Health. The government has also ended a post-arrival PCR test requirement.

Domestic Measures
The government requires at least two meters (6.5 feet) of physical distance and facemasks in public places. However, official statements indicate that enforcement is uneven to lax in many areas. Vaccination is also mandatory for using most public transport. Retail can operate, but owners, employees, and patrons must be fully vaccinated.

Authorities require COVID-19 cases and their designated close contacts to self-quarantine for seven days; positive cases must remain in isolation until receiving a negative test result.

International Travel Restrictions
The government permits entry from all locations under pre-pandemic protocols; foreign nationals 12 years old and above must be fully vaccinated. Unvaccinated citizens and foreign children below 12 years old must obtain a negative PCR test result within 72 hours before departure.

Advice

Follow all official instructions. Abide by national health and safety measures. Consider delaying traveling if experiencing symptoms associated with COVID-19, as they may prompt increased scrutiny and delays.
