Warning

Event

Authorities continue to enforce curbs in parts of Guangzhou as of Nov. 4 amid ongoing COVID-19 activity. The government continues to designate several locations in Haizhu and Baiyun districts as high or medium risk. Residents in high-risk locations must remain at home; exceptions may be possible for emergencies and essential reasons. Individuals in medium-risk areas cannot leave their communities except to purchase essential goods at specified times. Officials restrict travel to and from the affected communities. Authorities maintain measures for three days after the latest confirmed community case and continue testing before easing restrictions.

Officials have halted dine-in services, closed entertainment facilities, and suspended nonessential business operations in parts of Baiyun and Haizhu districts. However, the government has eased similar measures that were in place for Huadu and Tianhe districts after neither place reported new COVID-19 activity for seven days.

Transport services remain suspended in high- and medium-risk areas; officials have closed metro stations and altered bus routes to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Business disruptions are likely in high- and medium-risk areas, including industrial zones, which could lead to production delays and supply chain disruptions.

Advice

Strictly heed the instructions of authorities. Remain cooperative if approached and questioned by law enforcement officers. Confirm appointments and travel reservations due to possible restrictions.
