Activists affiliated with various organizations, including the Uttarakhand Hill State Organization, will stage a protest march in Nainital on Nov. 8. Participants will assemble at the Shri Ram Sevak Sabha building at 14:00 before marching along the Mall Road to Tallital District. The purpose of the action is to denounce the government's transfer of the Nainital High Court to another city. Organizers have not as yet announced the specific end point in Tallital. The event may be well attended.

Authorities will almost certainly monitor the event and may attempt to disperse the gathering if it is especially disruptive. Clashes between protesters and police are possible. Localized transport disruptions are most probable along Mall Road; temporary road closures and security cordons could be implemented.

Nainital is approximately 170 km (106 miles) southeast of Dehradun.
