Authorities will increase security measures in Surakarta and Yogyakarta for the wedding of President Joko Widodo's son Dec. 10-11. Programs will include an official ceremony at the Royal Ambarukmo Grand Hall in Yogyakarta at 12:30 Dec. 10. A procession will also take place from Loji Gandrung to the wedding reception at Mangkunegaran Palace in Surakarta from 08:30 Dec. 11.
Heightened security measures may include road closures and additional personnel deployment at event sites and any wedding procession routes. Authorities will deploy around 7,500 security personnel to the program venues as a precaution. Localized transport disruptions are probable.
