Protesters have reportedly gathered to denounce the hosting of refugees in a nearby asylum center. Protest activity is causing transport disruptions along several thoroughfares in the city, including East Wall Road. The Dublin Port Tunnel is closed to southbound traffic; moreover, Wexford Bus route 740 serving Northwall Quay is disrupted. Additional protests could also occur in several other locations, including Samuel Beckett Bridge and Amiens Street.

Authorities will likely maintain a high-security presence in the affected area until the gatherings end and the demonstrators disperse. Lingering disruptions to transit services are almost certain over the coming hours.
