Clashes between protesters and security forces were also reported in Zarqa, in the Al-Jabal Al-Abyad neighborhood of Amman, and along highways between the capital and the Dead Sea.

Further protests of varying sizes and types are likely over the coming days. Further violence could occur, as additional confrontations between police and demonstrators cannot be ruled out. Heightened security is likely in Maan, Zarqa, and Amman, and disruptions due to road closures and checkpoints are possible. Individuals should avoid all demonstrations and large gatherings, comply with directives from local authorities and maintain heightened security awareness.

Advice

Avoid all protest-affected areas until authorities give the all-clear. Exercise increased caution near any demonstrations that may materialize. Confirm the availability of transport and allow additional time to reach destinations in the vicinity. Monitor local media and liaise with trusted contacts for updates.
