Suspected Al-Shabaab militants carried out an attack on a police vehicle in Bura, Garissa County, the morning of Dec. 21. According to local sources, the vehicle traveling between the Hayley Lapsset Camp and Garissa ran into an improvised explosive device (IED) before being attacked with a rocket-propelled grenade. Two police officers and a civilian were killed in the incident, while an unspecified number of officers managed to escape. The whereabouts of the officers remain unknown. Authorities have reportedly sent additional security forces to the area to track down the attackers.
