Response operations are ongoing in Batang Kali, Selangor State, as of early Dec. 16 following a landslide near Father's Organic Farm in Gohtong Jaya. The landslide occurred early Dec. 16 and hit a campsite with an estimated 100 people. Authorities have reported two fatalities, and at least 51 others remain missing; the death toll is likely to rise as search and rescue operations progress. At least three people were injured, and 37 others have been found safe.

No significant rainfall is forecast but sustained heavy rainfall could trigger additional landslides and flooding in low-lying communities near rivers, streams, and creeks. Sites located downstream from large reservoirs or rivers may be subject to flash flooding after relatively short periods of intense rainfall. Landslides are possible in hilly or mountainous areas, especially where the soil has become saturated by heavy rainfall.
