Residual disruptions are likely after Taliban forces confirm the conclusion of a security operation against an alleged Islamic State-Kohrasan (ISK) hideout near Kabul's Police District 8 in the Qalacha and Shahdai areas as of late Jan. 4. Multiple explosions and incidents of gunfire were reported earlier in the Karte Naw area. Taliban officials indicate seven militants were killed and seven others were detained.

Lingering heightened security measures and associated localized transport disruptions are likely near the Police District 8 area through at least the evening of Jan. 4.
