Event

Authorities have issued a traffic advisory for a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) roadshow in New Delhi 15:00 Jan. 16. The roadshow is expected to draw hundreds to thousands of people due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's attendance.

Authorities will close several roads including Ashoka, Imtiaz Khan Marg, Jai Singh, Jantar Mantar, Rafi Marg, Sansad Marg, and Tolstoy roads, and Bangla Sahib Lane. Officials will reroute traffic from parts of Gol Dak Khana, Gurdwara Rakab Ganj, Janpath, KG Marg, Raisina, Rail Bhawan, and Windsor roads. Authorities recommend travelers use public transport due to heavy traffic. Individuals visiting New Delhi Railway Station, Old Delhi Railway Station, Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station, Inner State Bus Terminal, and Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) are advised to allow additional travel time for possible traffic disruptions.

A heightened security presence is almost certain in the affected areas. Localized traffic disruptions and movement restrictions for pedestrians will likely occur on nearby roads. Localized business disruptions are also possible through the evening of Jan. 16.

Advice

Heed all official advisories. Confirm travel and business appointments in advance if operating in the impacted area. Use alternative routes to avoid road closures and security-related disruptions.
