Malaysia: Activists plan to protest in Kuala Lumpur Jan. 27 to denounce burning of Quran

Activists from the Malaysian Islamic Party plan to protest in Kuala Lumpur Jan. 27 to denounce the burning of the Quran by a far-right activist from Denmark, who received authorization from Swedish police to protest outside Turkey's Embassy in Stockholm, Sweden. Organizers have called for protesters to gather at Tabung Haji Mosque at 08:30 before marching to the Embassy of Sweden. Another protest march is set to take place from Asy-Syakirin Mosque KLCC to the Embassy of Sweden from 14:00 after Friday prayers. Dozens to hundreds of people could join the gathering. The Malaysian police have not given approval for the protests and could take action against attendees.
