Warning

Event

Air Niugini (PX) announced the resumption of domestic flights in Papua New Guinea Jan. 6 after its jet fuel supplier confirmed it had reestablished regular supplies. The airline canceled all its domestic flights the previous day after its supplier terminated A1 jet fuel supply due to challenges accessing foreign currency.

Lingering flight delays and cancellations are possible in the coming days as the airline work to clear flight and passenger backlogs. Disruptions could also impact flights by other airlines, including those operating international routes.

Advice

Contact airlines to reconfirm flights; book alternate travel arrangements if necessary. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed.
