Nationwide general transport strike postponed in Tunisia until March 15-16 following negotiations with officials late Jan. 24.

Tunisia's largest labor union, the Tunisian General Labor Union (UGTT), has postponed a planned two-day general transport strike Jan. 25-26 following successful negotiations with authorities late Jan. 24. Instead, the strike action is expected to occur on March 15-16. The labor action was intended to denounce what it has called the government's "marginalization of public companies."
