Lebanon: Teachers plan to protest in central Beirut Feb. 6

Unionized education workers plan to protest between avenue Bechara el-Khoury and Riad el-Solh Square in Beirut from 09:30 Feb. 6. Protesters will denounce poor working conditions and low salaries. Dozens to hundreds of individuals could attend the demonstration.

Increased security and localized transport disruptions are likely near the protest site through the morning and early afternoon of Feb. 6. Clashes between police and protesters cannot be ruled out, particularly if demonstrators are overly disruptive or ignore police orders to disperse.
