A magnitude-7.3 earthquake occurred in southern Turkey at 03:17 Feb. 6. The epicenter was about 37 km (23 miles) west northwest of Gaziantep, Turkey. The tremor occurred at a depth of about 24 km (14 miles), and light shaking was probably felt throughout southern and central Turkey and northern Syria. Aftershocks are likely.
