Clashes are reportedly occurring between security forces and informal street vendors along Bulawayo's Fifth Avenue on Feb. 23. Violence began early Feb. 23 as Bulawayo's Council police force reportedly tried to remove illegal vendors from the area. Reports suggest that police fired live rounds into the resisting vendors. There have been no initial casualty reports.

Security forces will likely remain deployed and may forcibly disperse disruptive crowds. Further clashes between police and protestors cannot be ruled out. Localized business disruptions are possible in the event of any violence and associated security measures.
