Afghanistan: Explosion in Kabul on March 27 /update 1

An explosion near the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kabul’s Police District (PD) 2 the afternoon of March 27 killed at least two people and injured 12 others. It is not clear what caused the blast; however, it was likely caused by a bomb. The casualty figures may be adjusted in the coming hours.

Heightened security and road closures are likely in the impact area in the coming hours. Investigations could result in localized ground travel delays.
