Conservative parties and anti-EU activists are demonstrating outside Parliament in Tbilisi on March 14. The Conservative Movement and the radical pro-Russian group Alt Info are denouncing western influence in the country, and have torn down EU flags on the building. The demonstration comes days after the government withdrew a controversial "foreign agents" bill, following a campaign of demonstrations by opposition parties. Further protests by both sides are likely in the coming days.
A heightened police presence is likely near Parliament during all related protests. Large crowds and associated security measures, including possible road closures and movement restrictions, will likely prompt localized transport disruptions. Additional isolated clashes between police and protesters cannot be ruled out.
