Informational

Event

Compressed natural gas dealers affiliated with the Federation of Gujarat Petroleum Dealers’ Association plan to stage an indefinite strike across Gujarat from 07:00 March 3 to demand a revision of 50 percent on the existing dealer margins. While organizers have not announced any plans for demonstrations, strike participants may hold protests during the industrial action.

Unless averted, the strike will likely affect around 800 CNG stations across Gujarat. CNG shortages may lead to an increased demand for alternative transport, especially railways. Other fuels are unlikely to be affected.

Advice

Anticipate long queues at gas stations across Gujarat. Check public transit schedules for possible service changes; allow additional travel time. Avoid any demonstrations that may occur.
