Informational

Event

Authorities have closed Nawabshah Airport (WNS) as of March 27 due to a geotechnical study. The closure will last for two months, until May 23. Only helicopters are allowed to land and take off in the interim. WNS is occasionally used as a diversion airport for Jinnah International Airport (KHI) in Karachi.

The airport closure could extend beyond May 23 if the study is not completed as scheduled. Lingering disruptions are possible.

Advice

Make alternate travel arrangements if scheduled to travel via WNS during the closure. Contact airlines to change flights or seek refunds.
