Uruguay eases COVID-19-related entry protocol as of March 3.
Event
Authorities in Uruguay plan to ease COVID-19-related entry protocols as of March 3. Visitors will no longer need to provide proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test before entry. Existing domestic and entry measures remain.
Domestic Measures
Facemasks are required for people with respiratory infections, health center personnel, and anyone entering a health center. Authorities also highly recommend that individuals wear facemasks on public transportation. Most businesses are able to operate following health protocols.
International Travel Restrictions
Foreign nationals are required to have health insurance covering COVID-19 treatment.
Officials could further tighten, ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on local disease activity. Authorities could enforce targeted local measures in some areas assessed to be high risk.
