Event

Officials have extended the existing internet service restrictions in Sambalpur District, Odisha State, through 10:00 April 22 following recent clashes between two groups that injured at least 10 people. The violence began on April 12 when unidentified assailants hurled stones at motorists leading a religious bike procession near the Bhudapara area. Despite the restrictions, broadband and leased line services will remain operational 10:00-17:00 daily. Authorities are maintaining a heightened security posture in the affected areas. Security personnel may extend the existing measures or impose additional restrictions, such as checkpoints and road closures, depending on the severity of the perceived threat. Security measures may prompt associated localized transport and business disruptions. Related rallies and/or further clashes are possible over the coming days.
