Increased security and transport disruptions are sure to occur in parts of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana states April 8-9 to facilitate Prime Minister Narendra Modi's official visit. On April 8, Modi will visit Hyderabad to attend a public gathering at the Parade Ground and inaugurate a development project at Secunderabad Railway Station. The prime minister will then arrive in Chennai around 15:00 to introduce other projects at Alstom Cricket Ground, Central Railway Station, Chennai International Airport (MAA), and a development scheme in Pallavaram; Modi will also attend a gathering at the Sri Ramakrishna Math monastery in the Mylapore area.

On April 9, Prime Minister Modi will travel to Karnataka State, where he will visit several locations, including Karnataka State Open University in Mysuru, as well as Bandipura Tiger Reserve in Bandipur and Mudumalai National Park in Nilgiris District. The leader may also visit other locations in all three states April 8-9; typical sites include governors' residences (Raj Bhavan), and other prominent government buildings, as well as public squares and railway stations.

Authorities will deploy 22,000 security personnel in Chennai and 4,000 in Tambaram, Tamil Nadu. Officials will also almost certainly maintain an increased security presence at other sites in Karnataka and Telangana states hosting the prime minister. Officials plan to conduct enhanced checks in several areas, including MAA, Central Railway Station, Vivekananda House, and Raj Bhavan in Chennai. Officials will prohibit the use of drones and other unmanned aerial vehicles through April 9 in Chengalpattu District and Tambaram, Tamil Nadu. Security personnel will also divert traffic in many areas to facilitate the prime minister's motorcade; in Hyderabad, a traffic advisory will remain in effect in several parts of the city 09:00-14:30 April 8. Flight disruptions may occur at MAA and other airports where the prime minister departs and arrives from. Associated localized business disruptions are possible through the evening of April 9.
